Wirbel gets it
Was just looking at this week's EE Times Edge and caught this video interview that Loring Wirbel did. Dynamite stuff. Glad to see EE Times evolving in the right way.

I'm sorry - what is "EE Times Edge"?
ReplyDeleteNever mind... should have looked in my inbox first!
ReplyDeleteYour're to be forgiven, John. This was a recent development. Brian Fuller reported it and I never followed up because I was in trade show frenzy at Semicon.
ReplyDeleteKudos to Loring for pushing the envelope. As Times as evolved in this medium, there's been some off the record chatter about who's doing it right and not so right, but at the end of the day, it doesn't matter. It becomes self-selecting.
ReplyDeleteWhether it gets monetized is another question, but it may not even be a valid question. Times needs to monetize community and it's slowly moving completely online with the idea of developing whatever it can to serve as a magnet for that community.
It's long overdue. People forget that Times in the 1980s and early 1990s had one of the most vibrant engineering communities online through its BBS.
