Foreign ownership of US media growing

Don't know if many of you are aware that much of the US media, is not owned by US corporations.



CMP Media, is London based (EE Times, Information Week, etc).  Reed Elsevier (EDN, Design News, etc.) is London based.   And this just in...



Dow Jones & Co. and News Corp. have agreed in principle on a set of editorial protections for Dow Jones, according to people familiar with the matter.



The two sides finalized the last points on the agreement this morning, these people said. The accord paves the way for the sale of the publisher of The Wall Street Journal to Rupert Murdoch's media conglomerate for about $5 billion.

SEO: it should be about who, not how many

What's missing from most company websites, or at least what is craftfully hidden, is that very reason for being. Companies hire SEO consultants who have absolutely no understanding of the market for the companies' products and just jam the web traffic with random hits from spiders, which makes everyone feel good until you look at the sales figures for the year. Google took the issued of keywords and shoved its priority to the very bottom of SEO and pushed paid search to a specific box on their search page.
